Christmas always goes by too fast. All the preparation - buying gifts, listening to Christmas music, watching Christmas movies, going to ugly sweater parties, concocting the perfect recipes, etc. - takes much longer than the actual day itself. I still love the holiday season, however, it's sad how fast the day passes.
I've always loved Christmas, but now that I'm in college (or just an adult, in general), I appreciate it so much more. Winter break allows me to escape my college life and just go back to the good 'ol days of family and simplicity. Life changes, but when my sister, dad, mom, and I are all together, it seems as if time hasn't passed at all.
I haven't seen my sister since March. That's a long time, especially when we share such a special bond. So, spending even one week with her made me cherish every moment.
The holidays are truly a special time, especially when you are surrounded by the people you love most. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and has a happy new year!
